CPE (Chlorinated Polyethylene) hoses are designed for motorsport and track use. CPE is arguably the most widely used range of lines and fittings. CPE hoses are true double braided stainless hoses, constructed with a stainless steel outer braid and CPE synthetic inner rubber lining with a Nylon Inner braid. Our CPE fuel hoses are compatible with all synthetic lubricants, oils, fuels and coolants.
CPE versus PTFE fuel lines
CPE (Chlorinated Polyethylene) and PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) hoses are both used in fuel and brake systems, but they’re not up to the same tasks. CPE hoses are flexible and resistant to both chemicals and UV degradation, but they aren’t as heat-resistant as PTFE hoses.
What is a PTFE hose used for?
PTFE hoses, known for their high heat and chemical resistance, are more commonly used in high-performance racing applications, where extreme temperatures and various chemicals are at play. PTFE hoses are also smoother inside, making them better for fuel flow.
Can you use regular AN fittings on PTFE hose?
You shouldn’t use regular AN fittings on a PTFE hose. You should use PTFE fittings with PTFE fuel lines because the fittings have a crushed olive that seals the line and ensures it won’t leak. PTFE hose is also too stiff for hose clamps, so it won’t create a good seal.
What is a push lock hose?
A push-lock fuel hose uses a self-grip system that doesn’t require clamps or special tools for installation. Push-lock hoses allow connectors and fittings to be attached to fuel hoses in low-pressure hydraulic and pneumatic applications, like motorsport.
